But the progress is getting there. At the same time as creating this someone who is totally new to game design is also watching the videos as they come out and giving me a insight on how it helps him and if there is anything i should mention or change so I can really target it towards the people who are totally new to game design! so stand by and will hope to get it out to you guys reallllly soon!Anonymoushttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14583073630604522227noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7446626410978074952.post-50766505379172037172012-09-19T12:03:00.001-07:002012-09-19T12:09:13.209-07:00Hey all, Today i was asked about what are some good books for game design so I thought i would make this post to link you all to some of the most useful books i have had over the years that you guys might also enjoy.

In the next week or so I will be posting a new tutorial series and in this series we will go through a large amount of game design development this will include.

Creating a low polly model of the gun.
Creating a high polly model of the gun.
UVW Unwrapping our low polly model of the gun.
Using our high polly model to bake out some normal maps for our gun.
Exporting ambient occlusion maps for our gun.
Creating a diffuse texture for our gun.
Adding bump mapping to our gun.
Adding a specularity map to our gun.
Applying the newly created textures to our gun in 3D Studio Map.
Rigging the gun to a bone structure.
Animating the gun.
Exporting the animations for our gun to UDK.
Exporting the gun model to UDK.
Uscripting our gun model in to make it a playable object in the game.
Creating new gun sounds (Special guest joe) will be helping who has a music degree for this part.
Bug Testing our gun.
Fixing errors.

Through out learning all this stuff we will be talking about a whole range of different topics through out the tutorials from market researching for your games to Polly flow of your 3D models and how it effects how they look. So stay tuned in to the blog for the updated series of tutorials. This will be posted as a full series this time from start to finish so hope you all will enjoy it! And please if you are about to start this one watch the first series of tutorials first this will help you a huge amount even if it feels like its a simple task to make a box for a game. It is a huge step with the techniques we are using to get you a bit more in knowledge with the tools we will be using.

Thanks for reading and have fun doing your game design
Below are a few videos i have done to explain.

Things you will learn
Basic Modelling in 3D Studio Max
Creating a Low Polly Shape
Creating a High Polly Shape
Creating of a UVW Map for low Polly object
Exporting it to xNormal and using the high Polly and low Polly UVW to bake a normal map
Viewing the normal map on your model inside CrazyBump
Applying the normal map on your model in 3D Studio max
Exporting the UVW Map for the low Polly model
Creating a Ambient Occlusion with xnormal
Creating a diffuse texture
Applying the the diffuse texture to your model in 3D Studio Max
Using of normal maps and bump maps
Creating a specular map
Exporting it to unreal engine
Viewing it in the unreal engine
